I've been reading everyone's blogs and it seems that everyone is giving a recap of festivities...so I'll follow suit and do the same.
JD had 9 days off and headed down to Texas earlier than the rest of us to start on the house, Skylar followed him on Tuesday and the kids, mom, and I headed down Wednesday. The kids were so excited to be back in Texas and of course the questions started flowing of why we can't live in Texas anymore...they miss home. :)
Thursday we did the normal cooking, eating, and napping! Is there anything else to do on Thanksgiving Day? Nothing too thrilling, but the kids were able to play with Chase, Hannah, and Emma for some time...they really enjoyed that. I know they miss their cousins being around.
On Friday JD, Sklyar and Jake worked on the house for about 12 hours! Dang it...we will get that bathroom closet complete...too bad I'll never get to enjoy it!
Mom and I snuck off to Christmas shop a little. We hit the outlets, Wal Mart, and of course Target. We finished the day off at Chili's for appetizers. It was a fun day. Mom and I rarely get to do that sort of thing, so I really did enjoy it.
The kids had decided to boycott home and opted for fun at the Davis house. Can't say I blame them.
While the kids were away I was able to sneak in my yearly dose of Miracle on 34th Street...I can quote the movie and I must admit I'm probably quite annoying to watch it with...I like to talk right along with the movie. But I LOVE that movie!
One thing I've very thankful for are those RAZORBACKS!!! Whoooo pig sooiee! My sister lives in Shreveport now and has turned to the dark side of LSU..she can't help it, but because she is blood, I'll let it slide. :) JD and Jake's Longhorns didn't fair so well...but let's not talk about that! HA! Let's just say there were many foul moods in ours and the Davis home.
On Saturday I wish there was something exciting to tell you about, but I've got nothing! It was raining and COLD! I did venture out to Wal-Mart for what seemed like 10 times. I made potato soup for dinner...which was delish if I do say so myself and there was much napping!
Taylor was able to go spend the day with her friend Molly, so she was very happy! Jake and Lulu played around the house. Jake made use of the doodle pad to express his love for Texas...
And on a funny note, I found Lulu at the dining table reading her bible with sunglasses on...I have no explanation, but there are worse things she could be doing, right?
Sunday we just loaded up and headed back to Arkansas. At the rate we keep carrying things back with us by the time we actually move there will only be furniture and wall hangings! The traffic and weather was terrible so our 4 1/2 hour trip turned into about 6 hours. We were smoked by the time we got to my dads. Tonight I look forward to cooking dinner and I just might unpack from our extended weekend. So, there you have it...Beene Thanksgiving 2007...your life is now complete. ;)
I love Miracle on 34th Street. After shopping on Black Friday, I come home, put in the movie, and wrap presents. It's my own little tradition that I subject my family to every single year. Then, of course I make them watch it again about once every weekend and everytime it comes on TV. So, let me say, you have amazing taste in movies. I knew there was a reason why I like you so much!! HA!
